Our Story
BLACK GIRL BEACH DAY™ IS AN EVENT CENTERED AROUND WOMEN AND GIRS OF COLOR.
It promotes solidarity, inclusivity and sisterhood amongst all black identifying persons in all shapes and shades and exists to reclaim oceanic and aquatic spaces. The event was born summer 2017 by Germany Lancaster of Newark, New Jersey.
Starting as a meet up with just 30 girls in attendance and has expanded to include a range of hosts, deejays, community leaders, arts & wellness facilitators and one thousand patrons. Black Girl Beach Day has become a fun summer staple and bonding experience for women of color on the east coast where they can tan, swim and slay in harmony.

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS: From 30 girls to 3,000! Over the years, Black Girl Beach Day has blown up! Now it’s a must-attend summer bash with hosts, DJs, community leaders, wellness gurus, and over a thousand attendees.
OUR MISSION We create a chill, safe space for black women to connect and enjoy the ocean. Think yoga, fitness sessions, wellness workshops, black-owned business pop-ups, live performances, and DJ sets.
OUR GOAL We want every black woman to feel proud, free, and fabulous! Nature is for everyone. Come tan, swim, slay, and share your ideas in a space where you’re celebrated and uplifted.
